Arbitrary file deletion via unfiltered Windows paths
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
External path control in eosphoros-ai DB-GPT latest allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files on Windows hosts. The agent hub update handler uses plugin_repo_name in a cleanup path without rejecting backslashes, so Windows resolves attacker-controlled path components before deletion. Unauthenticated network access to the endpoint is sufficient, and deletion is limited to files accessible to the DB-GPT process.
