CVE-2025-0425

SYSTEM privilege escalation via mutable server address

Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025

Privilege escalation in Cordaware bestinformed Infoclient before 6.3.7.0 allows local users to gain NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM access. Its quick-configuration GUI lets low-privileged users replace the trusted server address, while the client service accepts update packages and registry-read requests from that server under SYSTEM. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and the default exposed address controls; configurations that hide or disable those controls block the path.
