Unauthorized switching via unrestricted login attempts
Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Improper login-attempt restriction in Valmet DNA Operate C2007 through C2024 allows local users to gain switching access by guessing passwords. The operator user interface accepts an arbitrary number of failed logins without rate limiting or blocking the targeted account. Access to the local operator interface and a guessable credential are required; a successful login permits switching operations that can alter or interrupt the controlled process.
