CVE-2025-0416

SYSTEM privilege escalation via permissive DCOM object

Published Apr 1, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2026

Improper privilege management in Valmet DNA C2007 through C2022 allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges through a DCOM object. The Valmet DNA Engineering DCOM object's access permissions let an ordinary local account invoke commands under a process holding SeImpersonatePrivilege. Any local user can exploit that impersonation authority to obtain SYSTEM control, affecting confidentiality, integrity, and service operation.
