Privilege escalation in Axis Communications AB AXIS OS 12.0.0 through 12.3 allows local users to gain Administrator privileges. The flaw resides in the VAPIX Device Configuration framework, but Axis has not disclosed the incorrect operation or affected request path. A lower-privileged device account and local access are required; successful exploitation crosses the assigned authorization boundary to Administrator.
