Wi-Fi password disclosure via unauthenticated LAN access
Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated Jan 21, 2025
Missing authentication in NEC Aterm router firmware allows remote attackers on the LAN to read the configured Wi-Fi password. NEC has not disclosed the request handler or endpoint that returns the credential without verifying an authenticated management session. An attacker must reach the router from its LAN side; the vendor states that WAN-side attacks over the Internet are not possible, and no integrity or availability impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
