Memory corruption via unbounded mac parameter copy
Published Jan 9, 2025 · Updated Mar 22, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC6 15.03.05.16 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted mac parameter. GetParentControlInfo passes the parameter to strcpy, which copies it into a 596-byte allocation at offset two without checking its length. Access to the router endpoint is required; public evidence demonstrates the overwrite but not code execution or a specific crash outcome.
