CVE-2025-0332

Arbitrary file write via archive path traversal

Published Feb 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Path traversal in Progress Telerik UI for WinForms before 2025 Q1 (2025.1.211) allows attackers to write archive contents outside the target directory. Its archive extraction logic fails to confine entry target paths to the intended root and decompresses content into restricted directories; Progress has not disclosed the affected API or exact validation operation. Exploitation requires a Windows application using the affected library to process an attacker-controlled archive with user interaction, and extracted entries write within that application's filesystem permissions.
