CVE-2025-0287

SYSTEM privilege escalation via malformed IOCTL structure

Published Mar 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 5, 2025

Null pointer dereference in BioNTdrv.sys in Paragon Software products allows local users to execute kernel code through crafted IOCTL input. The driver accepts IOCTL 0x220004 or 0x220000 input without requiring a valid MasterLrp structure, then dereferences the missing structure in kernel context. Local access to a Windows host with an affected BioNTdrv.sys release is sufficient; successful exploitation grants SYSTEM-level execution, while malformed input can crash the host.
