Address bar spoofing via unhandled protocol navigation
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Address bar spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for Android before 134 allows remote attackers to display a false URL via an invalid scheme. The toolbar replaces the address-bar text with an unhandled scheme even though navigation fails and the previously loaded HTTPS page remains visible. Exploitation requires navigation to an invalid or unhandled scheme; the result is a misleading origin display rather than page-content modification.
