Local system crash via malformed driver IOCTL
Published Jan 5, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Null pointer dereference in IObit Protected Folder 1.3.0 and earlier allows local users to crash Windows via a crafted driver IOCTL. The pffilter.sys handler for control code 0x22200c dereferences a null pointer while processing attacker-controlled IOCTL input. Low-privileged local access is sufficient; the published impact is a system crash with no reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
