Authenticated browser script execution via stored System Name
Published Jan 5, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in Trimble SPS851 488.01 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The Receiver Status Identity page stores the System Name without neutralizing HTML and re-renders it after refresh, executing an injected event handler. Administrative access is required to set the field, and a user must later view the page; execution is limited to that browser session's privileges.
