Stored XSS via unescaped debug report
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Stored XSS in GPT Academic 3.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in an administrator's browser via a debug report. The Latex Proof-Reading Module writes attacker-controlled content into debug_log.html without neutralizing HTML or script markup. Execution requires an administrator to open the generated report and permits actions or data access within that administrator's session.
