Administrator account creation via unchecked signup role
Published Mar 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in Javo Core 3.0.0.080 and earlier allows remote attackers to create WordPress administrator accounts. The ajax_signup registration handler accepts a requester-controlled role and assigns it to the new account without restricting registration to a safe role. Public account registration must be reachable; exploitation grants full site-administration privileges and materially changes the target.
