Remote decoder crash via null Huffman tables
Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Denial of service in Android 12 through 15 allows remote attackers to crash the DNG decoder through crafted lossless JPEG data. dng_lossless_decoder::HuffDecode in dng_lossless_jpeg.cpp uses an uninitialized or null Huffman table while decoding the data. The documented consequence is a crash, with no privileges or user interaction required and no reported code execution.
