CVE-2025-0079

Local privilege escalation via unencrypted Bluetooth channels

Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Elevation of privilege in Android 12, 12L, 13, 14, and 15 allows local users to gain elevated privileges via Bluetooth. AVCTP and AVDTP registration and connection calls request L2CAP authentication but omit the encryption security flag, leaving control and media channels unencrypted. Exploitation requires User-level local code execution and no user interaction; successful abuse grants elevated access affecting device confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
