CVE-2025-0041

Local code execution via uncontrolled installer search path

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Uncontrolled search paths in AMD Vitis Embedded SFD before 2026.1 allow local users to execute arbitrary code during Windows installation. AMD identifies the SFD installer as the affected locus but has not disclosed which executable or library lookup searches an attacker-writable path. A low-privileged local user must plant code in a searched location and wait for another user to run the installer; execution follows the installer's context.
