Register disclosure and modification via JTAG access
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Improper access control in AMD Ryzen processors allows physically proximate attackers to read or overwrite XCD registers through JTAG. The JTAG-to-AXI access path fails to enforce access restrictions for cross-chip debug registers, exposing their contents to unauthorized reads and writes. Physical access and a present hardware precondition are required; exploitation discloses register data or alters it without a reported availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
