CVE-2025-0033

Guest-memory corruption via RMP initialization race

Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025

Improper access control in AMD SEV-SNP on affected EPYC processors allows local users with admin privilege to corrupt guest memory. The AMD Secure Processor initializes the Reverse Map Table without excluding a racing hypervisor write, allowing the initial RMP content to be manipulated. A malicious hypervisor with administrative privilege must win the initialization race; the reported consequence is loss of guest-memory integrity, not disclosure or interruption.
