CVE-2025-0014

Local privilege escalation via installation-folder permissions

Published Apr 2, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Privilege escalation in AMD Ryzen AI Software before 1.3 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through installation-folder permissions. The installer leaves the installation directory with access controls that permit low-privileged users to alter trusted content; AMD does not identify the exact entries. Exploitation requires existing low privileges and user interaction, and successful modification executes attacker-controlled code with elevated rights.
