CVE-2025-0012

SMM memory corruption and disclosure via RMP overlap

Published Feb 10, 2026 · Updated Feb 10, 2026

Improper memory overlap handling in AMD EPYC 9005-series processors allows privileged local users to corrupt or infer SMM memory. The processor mishandles an overlap between the segmented RMP, which tracks SEV-SNP memory ownership, and protected SMM memory, allowing the mapping to expose or overwrite that higher-privilege region. Exploitation requires local high privileges; it can partially disclose SMM contents or corrupt them, with no reported availability impact.
