Unauthenticated account takeover via exposed log_in dispatch
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in ODude Crypto 2.18 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any existing account by supplying its username. The crypto_connect_ajax_process dispatcher permits an unauthenticated call to log_in, which selects the named WordPress user without validating credentials. Knowledge of a valid username is required; an administrator username yields full site-administration access.
