CVE-2024-9949

Service interruption via writable configuration file

Published Oct 23, 2024 · Updated Nov 7, 2024

Denial of service in Forescout SecureConnector 11.1.02.1019 through 11.3.5 on Windows allows local users to stop the application. The agent initializes its configuration file with permissions that allow a low-privileged account to modify and corrupt it. Local low-privileged access to an affected Windows endpoint is required, and corruption interrupts SecureConnector rather than the operating system.
