Unauthenticated account takeover via weak OAuth identity verification
Published Oct 23, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in ProfilePress Pro 4.11.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to take over existing WordPress accounts. The WordPress.com social-login provider maps the email identity returned by a social login token to a local user without sufficiently verifying the token user. Exploitation requires access to the target email and no existing WordPress.com account link for that user; targeting an administrator yields administrator access.
