Stored HTML injection via unsanitized order notes
Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored HTML injection in WooCommerce 9.0.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject markup through checkout order notes. The classic checkout path stored customer notes without wc_sanitize_textarea(), while confirmation and email views permitted markup through wp_kses_post(). No account is required; an administrator must view the resulting order submission for the injected content to render in a privileged browser context.
