Account takeover via unrestricted login attempts
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Improper login-attempt restriction in Hitachi Energy NSD570 1.0 through 1.20 allows remote attackers to take over accounts via password guessing. The login panel accepts repeated password guesses without a failed-attempt limit or lockout. A guessed credential grants unauthorized system access, although the single-session limit and a delay exceeding one second after failures impede automation.
