Remote code execution via unsafe file opening
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in LoLLMs WebUI 12 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the open_file API. The Send file to AL function accepts executable script types, and open_file passes the uploaded path to subprocess.Popen without validating whether the file is safe to launch. The interface has no built-in authentication, but remote exploitation requires the normally local-only WebUI to be deliberately exposed beyond its host.
