Unauthenticated account takeover via unvalidated OTP token
Published Oct 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in miniOrange OTP Verification with Firebase 3.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to access any existing account. The OTP login path in handler/forms/class-loginform.php accepts a supplied token without validating it before resolving the phone number to a WordPress user. Knowledge of the phone number linked to a target account is required, and selecting an administrator's number grants administrator access.
