CVE-2024-9859Network attack vector

Arbitrary code execution via uncanonicalized exception types

Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

Type confusion in WebAssembly in Google Chrome before 126.0.6478.126 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML page. The WebAssembly.Exception constructor failed to canonicalize an exported tag's signature against its originating module before checking a supplied value. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled HTML, after which attacker-chosen code runs in the affected Chrome process.
