Local code execution via FAX Agent DLL hijacking
Published Nov 28, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Uncontrolled DLL search in GENESIS64 and related products allows local users to execute code through the FAX Agent. In GENESIS64, ICONICS Suite, Hyper Historian, GENESIS32, and MC Works64, the multi-agent notification FAX Agent loads a crafted DLL from a searched folder without constraining its path. A local authenticated account and the affected agent are required; execution can read, alter, or delete product data or interrupt the service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
