Published Nov 14, 2024 · Updated Nov 15, 2024
Cleartext transmission in Baxter Life2000 Ventilation System 06.08.00.00 and earlier allows local users to read data and alter settings. The ventilator's serial interface sends and accepts unprotected messages, exposing information and allowing commands to affect device settings and performance. Physical access to the unattended device is required, and successful manipulation can disrupt its life-supporting air delivery without user interaction.
