Subscriber-level post deletion via missing capability checks
Published Oct 12, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in ImagePress 1.2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary posts or change post titles. The ip_delete_post and ip_update_post_title functions perform these mutations without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, enabling site-content loss or unauthorized title changes without broader administrative privileges.
