Unauthenticated SQL injection via autocompletion table parameter
Published Oct 10, 2024 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
SQL injection in WP-Advanced-Search before 3.3.9.2 allows remote attackers to read WordPress database data through an unauthenticated endpoint. The PHP 5.5 autocompletion endpoint places the unsanitized t parameter into an SQL statement, where it controls the table expression. No authentication is required; crafted UNION queries can return WordPress user password hashes through the endpoint.
