CVE-2024-9741

Code execution via unchecked PDF heap copy

Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 25, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in Tungsten Automation Power PDF 5.0.0.10.0.23307 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF file. The PDF parser copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length heap buffer without first validating that the supplied length fits. Execution requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, and resulting code runs in the context of the Power PDF process.
