Subscriber settings modification via missing capability checks
Published Jan 7, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Social Rocket – Social Sharing Plugin 1.3.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify plugin settings. The tweet_settings_save() and tweet_settings_update() handlers accept submitted settings changes without verifying the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber-level accounts can therefore overwrite Click to Tweet configuration, with no reported access to unrelated site data.
