Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Oct 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Debrandify 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through uploaded SVG files. The plugin's SVG upload option admits SVG files without sanitizing embedded active content before WordPress serves the stored file. Author-level media-upload access and the SVG option are required; opening the uploaded SVG executes attacker-controlled script in the visitor's browser.
