Stored XSS via unescaped post titles
Published Nov 21, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Stored XSS in Ditty before 3.1.47 allows remote authenticated users with Author access to execute scripts through crafted post titles. The WP Posts Feed renderer places stored post titles into page markup without neutralizing attribute-breaking characters, allowing an event handler to execute. Exploitation requires content-creation access and a victim who interacts with the rendered title; the script runs with the victim's browser session privileges.
