Map project modification and deletion via unchecked AJAX
Published Oct 25, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Image Map Pro 6.0.20 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to add, update, or delete map projects. Its AJAX project-management functions omit a capability check before modifying stored map-project data. Contributor-level WordPress access is sufficient, and exploitation can alter or delete map projects without granting reported access to their contents.
