Authenticated code execution via unchecked webpage copy
Published Oct 6, 2024 · Updated Oct 7, 2024
Buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-605L 2.13B01 BETA allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted webpage parameter. The formWlanSetup_Wizard handler copies the arbitrary-length webpage POST value with strcpy into fixed-size memory without checking its length. An authenticated web-management session is required; Internet reachability additionally requires remote management, while successful exploitation can compromise or crash the router.
