Authenticated router compromise via unchecked curTime copy
Published Oct 5, 2024 · Updated Oct 7, 2024
Buffer overflow in formEasySetPassword in D-Link DIR-605L 2.13B01 BETA allows remote authenticated users to compromise the router. The /goform/formEasySetPassword handler copies the attacker-controlled curTime request argument without checking its length, overflowing its destination buffer. Access to the web management interface and valid low-privilege credentials are required; successful exploitation permits data access, modification, and service interruption.
