Unauthenticated Administrator escalation via registration role parameter
Published Oct 10, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Improper privilege management in UserPlus 2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to gain Administrator access during registration. The form_actions and userplus_update_user_profile functions accept the user-controlled role parameter without restricting privileged roles. No authentication is required; a registration request can create an account with site-administration privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
