Regular expression denial of service in Vue.js 2.0.0 through 2.7.16 allows remote attackers to delay template compilation via malformed markup. The parseHTML routine in html-parser.ts applies an inefficient closing-tag regular expression to long script, style, or textarea content with a mismatched end tag. The consuming application must pass attacker-controlled text to the Vue 2 compiler; successful exploitation consumes CPU and delays parsing and mounting without altering or exposing data.
