PayPal settings modification via nonce-free AJAX request
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 16, 2025
CSRF in Syntactics, Inc. eaSYNC Booking before 1.3.15 allows context-dependent attackers to alter PayPal settings through a subscriber session. The easync_setting_save AJAX action accepts option_paypal_set requests containing sync_paypal values without validating a CSRF nonce. A subscriber must be logged in and induced to open attacker-controlled HTML; the submitted request rewrites the plugin's sandbox, production, and payment-mode settings.
