CVE-2024-9412Network attack vector

Unauthorized data access via stale role mappings

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Improper authorization in Rockwell Automation Verve Asset Manager before 1.38 allows attackers to regain access to protected data. When every role mapping is removed, the authorization logic retains access for previously mapped users instead of revoking their data permissions. Exploitation requires an administrator to remove every mapping without manually removing those users, after which they can sign in and access data that should no longer be available.
