CVE-2024-9284Network attack vector

Authenticated service interrupt via oversized SSID argument

Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in TP-LINK TL-WR841ND 20240920 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to cause a service interrupt via a crafted SSID. popupSiteSurveyRpm.htm processes the ssid argument without enforcing the destination stack buffer's capacity. Low-privileged access to the router's web interface is required, and the published assessments limit the demonstrated impact to availability.
