CVE-2024-9277Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service interruption via repeated unanchored regex scans

Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Regular expression denial of service in Langflow 1.0.18 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to interrupt the service. The extract_input_variables_from_prompt function repeatedly applies an unanchored brace-matching regex and splices each match from remaining_text, forcing repeated scans of attacker-controlled prompt text. A crafted HTTP POST body can consume excessive CPU; authenticated access to the request handler is required, and no data disclosure or modification is reported.
