Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode URL attributes
Published Oct 4, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Memberful – Membership Plugin 1.73.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The memberful_buy_subscription_link and memberful_podcasts_link handlers add user-supplied parameters to generated URLs without sanitizing them or escaping the completed URLs. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in a visitor's browser when the injected page is opened.
