Settings modification via nonce-free AJAX action
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 17, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in GS Plugins GS Logo Slider before 3.7.1 allows remote attackers to alter settings via a logged-in administrator. The gslogo_save_shortcode_pref AJAX action accepts attacker-supplied prefs values without a CSRF nonce check and stores them as shortcode preferences. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to submit an attacker-controlled form, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized configuration change.
