Stored XSS via unescaped podcast URL
Published Apr 14, 2025 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
Stored XSS in Blubrry PowerPress before 11.9.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted podcast URL. The plugin stores the podcast URL without sanitizing it and later renders it into the media player without output escaping, so an injected event handler executes when a viewer moves over the player. Author-level access is required to create the podcast entry, and execution additionally requires a visitor to view and interact with the affected player.
