Authenticated file read via unrestricted lyric path
Published Oct 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Path traversal in kau-boy Hello World 2.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server files via a crafted lyric path. The settings handler accepts the hello_world_lyrics value as a filesystem path, and hello_world_lyric() reads from that path without restricting it to the lyrics directory. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the response exposes a portion of the selected file.
